Team Stirista: Jane Diane Hasse
This month’s Team Stirista blog focuses on Jane Diane Hasse, who works as the Director of Human Resources and Office Management.
Tell us more about your daily and overall responsibilities and what your average work day looks like.
My job at Stirista is two-fold: Director of Human Resources and Office Management. As Director of Human Resources, I ensure that all the paperwork required by law for each employee is up to date. I handle day-to-day issues that may arise regarding employee interactions with management and staff. In my office management role, I ensure that the office suite runs smoothly by communicating with vendors and building management.
What do you like best about working at Stirista?
I like that we have been able to maintain a close-knit relationship with all of our employees. The job we do is somewhat exciting and cutting edge. I like that we have the brightest minds in our industry.
What excites you most about your job?
Having been here since the beginning, I can see how we have evolved through the years. It’s fun to remember our first DMA and Ad-Tech conferences, our first clients and our first hires.
I also remember the days when Candice and I would drive to shows; as well as the days when Erika and I planned them. Candice was a one-woman marketing team back then. We never dropped the ball on anything!
Now, looking at the present, it’s interesting to see how far we have come in a short period of time. It’s been rewarding to see new employees pick up the ball and start running with it. I like the team we have built and I know we have nothing but bright things in our future.
Tell us about your background. What did you do before coming to Stirista?
I retired after 27 years in the U.S. Army. I’ve lived and worked all over the world. Probably in places that would surprise you. My first job was as a flight medic. My last job was running a particular type of operations at the Centcom level for the war in Afghanistan and the supporting nations.
Tell us something we don’t know about you or that others might be surprised to learn about you.
I’m an avid fly fisher and kayaker. Show me a good river and I will show you true peace.
What advice would you give to someone interested in your job?
You need to be a people person, understand the law, stay organized and multitask!
